Organic Certification

The SWISS WATER® Process is certified organic by the Organic Crop Improvement Association, the world’s largest organic certification agency, in accordance with standards developed by the National Organic Program (NOP).  The decaffeination facility itself must conform to the OCIA’s rigorous standards: this means that we maintain procedures and levels of sanitation adhering to these strict standards. The organic integrity of our operation ensures the organic integrity of yours.

Fair Trade Certification

We offer a variety of Fair Trade Certified decafs.  Fair Trade connects farmers, businesses, and consumers in more sustainable and meaningful ways. When you chose a product with the Fair Trade Certified label, you’ll know you’re helping to:

  • Guarantee farmers and their families a fair price for the goods they produce.
  • Create direct trade links to farmers in democratically run cooperatives.
  • Encourage sustainable practices, such as organic farming, that help protect the environment. 
Fair Trade ensures that farmers earn enough for their crops to be able to continue producing quality, thereby stabilizing the supply of coffees of exceptional quality and variety. These relationships are even more critical in times of crisis for growers. Farmers use the income from Fair Trade to stay on their land, keep their families healthy, and keep their kids in school.

Rainforest Alliance Certification

Rainforest Alliance Certification guides and rewards continual improvements on farms, linking sustainable farm management with coffee quality, connecting responsible producers and traders with innovative companies and better markets.  The seal esnures that forests, rivers, soils and wildlife are conserved; and that workers and their families are respected, paid decent wages, and ahve access to education and medical care.  We currently offer one Rainforest Alliance decaf, from Colombia.

Kosher Certification

Because we decaffeinate coffee safely, naturally and organically, using no chemicals, the SWISS WATER® Process is also certified kosher by the Orthodox Rabbinical Council of British Colombia.
